New Online Registration System “myPremis”
Department of Environment (DOE) has launched the new online registration system “myPremis” since 2023. According to DOE, all premises who received the notice / email need to register and update “myPremis” prior June 2024. Some of the frequent ask questions for your reference:
1. Is it a MUST to register and update myPremis?
Yes, it is a MUST, required by legislation under section 37(1) of Environmental Quality Act 1974. It will be liable to a fine not exceeding RM 2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months, or to both.
Where to log in myPremis?
mypremis.doe.gov.my/logon
2. How to register?
Prior register, please obtain the “no. fail premis” from DOE. Ignore this step if you already have the “no. fail premis”.
Example of “no. fail premis”: JAS.BHQ.600-3/6/811
3. What information need to be updated in myPremis?
a. No. SSM and License from local authority (PBT/Majlis)
b. Location / address
c. Input Pembangunan (or known as Penilaian Awal Tapak PAT)
d. Operation
e. River
f. Production and Pollution Control System
4. Benefit of registration
a. Compliance. Avoid fine and punishment.
b. Milestone to ESG. Save as a proof to portrait “GREEN” image of the company.
c. Self-regulation. Avoid overlook the environmental requirement.

Dewan Rakyat Malaysia passed amendments to the Environmental Quality (Amendment) Bill 2022 on October 5, 2022. This bill mainly amends the penal provisions for violations of the Environmental Quality Act and raises the maximum amount of fines significantly.
